Michael Lee Bringing It Home!!!

First off thanks to Travis Turner and Froggyland Sports for allowing Michael to represent Big Blue Nation Report on The Travis Turner Show. Great job Mike Lee.

Michael Lee announces his top 3 Cat's of all time:

1. Rex Chapman
2. Jamal Mashburn (Hi...I'm Jamal....)
3. Chuck Hayes

Sleeper: P-Pat

This is your chance to let us know at the BBNR who your favorite Cat's of all time are. Let's go ahead and make it your top 5 or even 10. Be creative, this doesn't have to be the best players of all time but your favorite players.

This segment definately got me pumped for the beginning of the UK basketball season.
Please tune in regularly as the season gets a jump start this Friday as Midnight Madness peels the lid off what promises to be an exceptional season.

Check back often, weekly, no daily, no hourly...well you know.

By the way, yes, Pat Forde is still an idiot.

  1. 1. Jamal Mashburn- The turning point of the return of Kentucky to national prominence. Carried the Cats.
    2. Patrick Patterson- Tremendously maligned career that will finally get the success it richly deserves. Seemed like the only player who consistently had heart night in and night out last year.
    3. Andre Riddick- Here we go. Made things happen everytime on the court, blocked shots, took 100 3's on senior night when he tried to hit a 3. When he dunked he brought his knees to the rim. Oh, he also got choked by Rasheed Wallace in the Elite 8.
    4. Tony Delk- Tonyyyyyyyy... one of the most underrated Cat greats ever. Filled it up from long range, tremendous scorer.
    5. Travis Ford- Where Mashburn was Travis Ford wasn't far behind. Ran the team the way a PG should run it, filled it up from 3. From KY himself, which is a bonus in my book.
    6. Ramel Bradley- Ra' Smooth. Diamond cutter throwin' take no crap attitude. he won my heart when he stood up to Andrew Bogut in the NCAA's. Brought that Brooklyn attitude to a Cats team lacking in personality.
    7. Cliff Hawkins- C-Hawk... a ballhawk. If you were lazy with the ball Cliff would take it the other way for two. One of the best defenders at PG that I can remember.
    8. Rodney Dent- Man, I haveno reason really. Just liked Rodney Dent. He dunked with authority. Just always liked him.
    9. Todd Svboda (spelling)= One of my favorite walk ons... a true joy to have on the team and the crowd went BONKERS when he got some play.
    10. John Wall- He hasn't even logged a minute. However, his youtube dunk of the year on Stackhouse and his And1 like mix tapes has grown a legend that is near mythical. I have a hunch he will redefine the PG position. REDEFINE.

DIDN'T MAKE THE CUT BUT I GOT MUCH LOVE
Dale Brown, Anthony Epps, Cyber Twan, Prince, Wayne Turner, Rex Champman (I'm too young to remember much of Rexy), Walter McCarty, Allen Edwards.

    MOST DISLIKED CATS
    1. Gimel Martinez- wrong place at the wrong time, all the time.

    2. Michael Porter- After watching Porter all of last year its going to take some time to adjust to having a PG on the team this year.

    3. Todd Tackett- The golden boy from Paintsville couldn't ever quite make it happen. Accrued the most tanning bed minutes in one year for a UK player. Those minutes are still distributed to the most overhyped wortheless player on the team each year.

  2. Top Five Cats,
1.Chuck Hayes- This is a tough one but if anyone ever represented UK basketball the way the fans think it should,he is our poster boy.
2.Derek Anderson- Absolutely unstoppable in 96' Would have beaten Arizona in 97' with him on the floor.
3.Patrick Patterson- One of the few good things we got from the Billy Clyde era.
4.Cliff Hawkins- Defensive genious, and the stepback crossover in the Louisville game is still one of my favorite moments in UK history.
5.Ron Mercer- I really thought he might be the next Jordan, Could do it all.

    Runner Up
2009-10 Team, Cal is in the house and if this team gets it together with this much talent, it is going to be a special year for the Big Blue Nation.

  4. Depending on this year Patterson could be a top 5 or 6 all-time UK player period

  5. Patterson made my top 5 when he chose to come back.

Rex Chapman is close and probably should of been in there over someone.

  6. Riddick? Really? I mean, I liked him, but dang.

  7. My Top Five

    1. Tayshaun Prince - If for no other reason than for his performance against North Carolina.

    2. Chuck Hayes - A man still playing out of position and still doing it successfully.

    3. Patrick Patterson - Will like be at the top of my list by year's end.

    4. Jamal Mashburn - Memories of Mash are from my early, early childhood. But I heard he was a BAD, BAD MAN!

    5. Kelenna Azubuike - Could put on a gun show all by himself! His muscles had muscles. It's a shame he had to leave early due to family issues. UK would have won it all that year.

    Honorable mention:
Ron Mercer, Keith Bogans, Derrick Anderson, Rajon Rondo.
I'll also throw in a transfer: Heshimu Evans.
