Recruiting Update

As we reported yesterday, Kyrie Irving is expected to commit to Duke today. We've also received word that Achraf Yacoubou will soon announce his intentions to play for Jay Wright and the Villanova program. That leaves two more Madness visitors still undecided... Tobias Harris and Michael Gilchrist. While almost everyone in the know believes Gilchrist will end up at UK, there's still some uncertainty around Harris. He will announce his decision November 19 on ESPNU, though we could possibly hear something before then that will give us a pretty strong indication of his intentions. Besides Kentucky, Harris has interest in Louisville, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Syracuse, Tennessee and West Virginia.

More later.

  1. I think it is wise to take a look at the competition we are facing for Mr. Harris.

    Louisville- Our red-headed step-sister.

Georgia Tech- What was their record again last season???? (12-19 overall, 2-14 in conference play)

Maryland- How hard of a sell can you make due to one player (Greivious Vasquez), along with being a doormat in the ACC?

Syracuse- Carmelo Anthony isn't walking through that door...

Tennessee/West Virginia- Aside from the moonshine and being in the top 3% for having the most teeth, WHY? On second though, forget the moonshine comment... I forgot HuggyBear was there...

  2. I agree T.J, however, there appears to be some ties to the staff at Syracuse and they seem confident about him. Guess we'll see. Would be a huge "get" for Cal. There will be plenty of minutes for him considering Patterson and most likely Cousins will bolt for the NBA.
