Kentucky vs. Miami (OH)

Miami (OH) Scouting Report

:: Miami is lead by senior guard Kenny Hayes, who lead the Skyhaws with 17 points and 6 assists in a loss to Towson College. Wall and Bledsoe will have their hands full with him on the defensive end of the court, but their superior talent should win out in the end. Coach Cal says... "They probably have the best point guard we've played to this point. He is a tough, strong, and hardnosed kid."

:: Miami also has a pair of big men, Adam Fletcher and Nick Winbush, that will bang down low with Patterson and Cousins. Both scored 11 points each against Towson, with 12 rebounds combined. However, they'll be overmatched by UK's big men. Winbush will float outside of the paint for most of the game, while Fletcher will try to hold down the fort underneath. Cal says... "they aren't going to have two men inside. One of them is like a guard stepping out shooting threes, and he may be their best three-point shooter. Their inside guy sets whopping ball screens and he rolls into people. Again, they are a good team. It's another good team where the team can beat us."

:: Of course, everyone is eager to see Wall and Bledsoe on the floor together again, especially after Bledsoe's coming out party against Morehead State (see video in the post below). Cal says...“If you have your two guys, who are your best two players, you figure out how to play them together. That is what we'll try to do. The greatest thing is they'll have to figure out more than I do. They were out there yesterday talking to one another saying, you take it here and I'll take it there, throw it ahead to me, I'll throw it ahead to you. They are like two brothers and they really like each other. Eric had seven turnovers, but the point guard can't have seven turnovers, and we all know that. Hopefully, with John out there, he won't turn it over so much.”

  4. I'm pretty excited for tonight's game. Austin joked to me the other night that he was ready to be part of history, but really it pretty much feels that way with this team's possibilities

  6. Reno, history will be made this year. Austin don't lose sight of that, you ARE watching history. Probably the greatest point guard the state of Kentucky as ever seen. What a year for BBNR to be born, a year where history will be made; a year when Kentucky will once again be crowned king of the college basketball world. Enjoy my good man.....enjoy.
