Some Fun Little Facts...

I got to thinking about the score of tonight's game, 117-52. I have no doubt it will be just the beginning of three digits following the " #1 UK" on the screen, but when was the last time we scored at least 117? Well surprisingly last year we scored over 100+ four times including the embarrassment that was VMI. These were of course against what I consider non-quality teams (yes even though we lost to one of them).

We however haven't touched a number like tonight since December 15, 2001, when the Cats knocked off Kentucky State 118-63. Interestingly enough UK was lead in scoring by Marquis Estill. This team was extremely talented with at three current players playing in the League (Prince, Bogans, and Chuck). Oh and the phenom Rashard Carruth. I would think it's safe to say this years squad will surpass that team in talent and players in the League in years to come. Not much to this post really, just reminiscing.

  1. It was awesome to hit the century mark on Darius' 3.

  2. Oddly enough I was in Rupp for the Tennessee State game too. I guess as for the Cats scoring 100, I am good luck.

  3. Nice to see us get 117 tonight, but I am not sure if we can approach triple digits against a real team this season. We are going to have to post with our size advantage and that is going to have to slow the game down a little bit. We might be able to counteract that a little bit with an up tempo press. We have to get in better condition though if we are going to play that way. We are still going to create a lot of space and be efficient on offense once we get the offense down though. Will be quality basketball once we get it down.
