Alright, let's get it started.
* Nice to see Pat get the season started off with a nice put back.
* We look out of sorts early, lots of bad passes in the half court, and Morehead looks a lot more organized than we do right now
* Big three from Pat and even bigger block from Bledsoe. Morehead is showing they are a game opponent though.
* Hopefully Ty Proffitt isn't one of those Kentucky Kids that dreamed of playing for the Cats that light us up. Ty Proffitt just sounds like that kind of guy... Is from South Laurel and transferred from Notre Dame.
* A lot of Morehead State love in the section directly behind me.
* Our best defense is for Morehead to try to score on us in transition. They can't score on our bigs straight up. Very aggressive in looking for the shot block.
* Beast mode activated for Patterson... When the lights come on he was always going to show up. Showing why all the worry about his play was misguided. Before the game he got a game ball commemorating his 1000th point from last year and got a great ovation.
* When we get in the half court we can get a little bogged down. Might be a problem still against a more talented team. Gotta love Dodson though, he is a playmaker.
* Also gotta be a little more careful with our fouls, but that is to be somewhat expected from the aggressive D.
* It is awesome how much the crowd loves Patterson. They appreciate anybody that is busting it though, Orton got a lot of love earlier when he checked out as well.
* Calipari is worth the price of admission alone. He is like a cartoon character on the sidelines, but in a good way. Very animated
* Wish the crowd were as into the game as Coach Cal. In their defense, we haven't given them a ton to cheer for just yet. Not pushing the panic button though, Morehead is pretty good and we are fortunate to be up 11 at this point. Really this is about what I expected coming into the game. Morehead is very organized in a Tubby-ball sort of way.

ReplyDeleteI am up top on media row.. Erruption zone hasn't really got into it too much yet... The atmosphere right now is actually a little less "electric" than for the Clarion game... but still awesome for playing a team from the OVC. Gotta think that J Wall would help bring the Jimmy Dykes "It factor" though.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of Jimmy Dykes, he just gave it to the NCAA clearing house, regarding Derek Rose. He said if anyone needs to be on probation, it's the clearing house. There was more but it was very well put.

ReplyDeleteheard Dicky V make the same point the other day.. What is the point of having a clearinghouse if what they say doesn't mean anything? And if you are familiar with the story, they don't even have proof regarding Rose, just are saying he didn't comply with their investigation.. was bush league stuff from the NCAA which is par for the course
ReplyDeleteYeah, how can you justify clearing an student athlete, and then more a year later, change your mind. That's rediculous, and has a holier than thou tone to it too.
