Some people may say that preseason rankings and polls mean nothing. They are probably right, but if you're like me and love them here is a link to ESPN's first College Basketball Power Rankings of the season.
The Cats are ranked 4th by ESPN, and J.Lee told us yesterday that the Cats were ranked 2nd in the Fox poll. Let us know how you feel about both rankings in the comments section below.

Click on the Voters 1-5 tab and check out where Pat Forde has the Cats! Im shocked honestly
ReplyDeleteHaha... it's all been a front... Forde actually loves Cal and the Cats!
ReplyDeleteI can take 4th. You can't fault anyone who has Texas and MSU ahead of Kentucky at this point. North Carolina on the other hand. . .garbage.
ReplyDeleteI actually like these rankings more than the Fox poll.
ReplyDeleteAnyone notice OU at 7 in Gottlieb's poll? I found that odd, considering the others had them in the latter part of the top 20. They aren't supposed to be that good are they?
ReplyDeleteForde also had Butler 4th! I know they are the usual middle of the road spoiler team in March....but 4th!? Come on!
ReplyDeleteI would have to say of the 10 lists mine would resemble Bilas' and then may Lunardi's second.
ReplyDeleteI think OU will be a tough team, but not Top 10. They have have Warren and Gallon among other players. Still, I think Gottlieb was being a Big 12 homer on that one.
ReplyDeleteI may have given too much credit to Forde for delivering an unbiased list because upon further review i discovered that 6 of the 10 writers didnt even have the dirty birds in the top 25 and Forde has them at 16. Only Dicky V has them ranked higher, at 12. I should have known better than to compliment him before thoroughly checking all angles.
ReplyDeleteThese early rankings are turkey shoot. There's no way to know for sure how the season will play out. I'd say after Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan State, and Texas, anyone's guess is as good as another.
