John Wall continues to amaze...

John Wall did his part last night to ensure there would not be any sort of overlooking of the Hartford Hawks. He had 16 assists and only one turnover while also scoring 9 points of his own in a 104-61 victory. What is so nice about Wall's game is that he thinks to pass first, and then if there's nothing there, he'll look for his own shot. It's great to see a player of his talent so willing to dish the rock when you know he could score a lot more points than he currently does.

Wall's 16 assists breaks Travis Ford's previous record of 15, and they came in a variety of ways. In a stretch in the first half, Wall kept getting into the lane and then sending lobs to the rim for Patrick, DeMarcus, and Orton to slam home. The undersized Hawks had no answer down low. But Wall also drove the lane and then kicked out to open jump shooters, proving that he can find the open man anywhere on the court. This guy is truly special.

Now, the Louisville Cardinals await, and there's no doubt that Rupp will be rocking. Calipari has asked the crowd to once again keep it respectable but we'll have to wait and see how the fans respond. Its hard to believe that things will stay cool and calm, despite what Cal might want. Unfortunately, for us, this will be one of the few home games that we won't have any of our staff in attendance. Thanks to the national attention for this game, lowly bloggers such as ourselves were left on the outside looking in. However, you can guarantee that will be watching from the couch and we'll be on here to talk about it before, during, and after the game. We'll probably even do another live blog for the occasion.

Stay tuned... we'll have lots more about Wall's record setting night and the upcoming Louisville game coming very soon.
