Good Day To Be UK Fan

Dook lost to NC State tonight. I don't really think I have to explain how that is a good thing for Cats fan. There is a Facebook group entitled "A Dook loss is the next best thing to a UK win". My hate for them has died down slightly as Coach K's lack of recent success coincided with his assertion that the game of basketball is moving in a white and athletically challenged direction. Yea, he is something of a visionary. It is slightly harder to hate them now that they aren't really at the top of college basketball. Not much though. I still hate them with a passion, and you should too.

Anybody else ever wonder what happened to this kid crying? I can only imagine. I can only hope that someday he goes to Dook as a walk-on, and Mike Patrick can laud him with praise for his undying devotion to the Devil.

Also, Memphis bowed down to Kentucky's consecutive conference wins record tonight. (How does UCLA not hold that record? Figured they would have had the market cornered on a streak like that.) It is crazy to think how long that streak might have gone on had Cal not come to Camelot. That thought has to be driving Memphis fans crazy right about now, as they are one win shy of seeing their former coach take his new team to the top of the rankings. All isn't lost though for Memphis. Pastner seems to have his stuff together. I wish him well. Twelve years from now when he is on the cusp of greatness UK can snatch him away and we can all have a good laugh.

In other news, UNC got beat.. Again... This is somewhat bittersweet, as the decline of the Tar Heels is fuel for the 'UK is overrated' crowd. I think it is a fair trade off for Cats fans. We are gaining some needed breathing room in the All Time Wins race, which is bigger than any RPI debates. Hopefully we can stretch out the lead this year, because UNC won't stay down for long. And I am not against anything that gives Ole Cryin Roy a reason to live up to his namesake. 'Aww Shucks, dem there Tar Heels are a John Wall away from bein sum sort of a daggum good ball club!'

All in all, good night to be a Cats fan! Hopefully we can make it a better week with a win Saturday!
