Monday Night News and Views...

We've had a slow day around here, as many of us enjoyed a day off because of President's Day and JLee's world continues to change because of his new addition to the family. But we appreciate your patience on days like these because like many of you, we're just regular guys (and one gal) with jobs and families, and some days we just don't have the extra time to crank out the good stuff you've come to expect from BBNR. With that said, we do have a few cool videos posted below, and now some news and views for your Monday evening...

John Wall was named the SEC Freshman of the Week after averaging 23 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in wins over both Alabama and Tennessee. This is like the 20th time he or another Wildcat has won the award, but its still nice to see our boys get the recognition they deserve.

Kentucky is now #2 in both major polls after moving up one spot in the new AP poll. They received three first place votes in the AP and one in the coaches poll. You can see the complete rankings here. Kentucky is also tied with Syracuse at fourth place in the lateset RPI rankings.

In other news, DeMarcus Cousins has been the recipient of some unwanted phone calls from some overzealous Mississippi State fans lately. Apparently, the number was leaked on the internet and Bulldog fans have been calling him to talk trash about tomorrow night's game. Cuz has said he's going to wait until Wednesday to change his number because he's interested what the MSU fans might have to say after the Super Tuesday matchup on ESPN. Let's hope our favorite big man will be able to back that up on the court. Something tells me he will. Check out the video below to see what Cuz had to say about the crazy situation...

In recruiting news, coveted recruit Josh Selby really enjoyed his visit to Kansas but hasn't named them as his favorite just yet. UK, Arizona and UConn remain on that list and he is scheduled to attend Senior Day at Rupp Arena when the Cats will face the Gators of Florida. Something tells me he'll be impressed with that visit, but time will tell.

Well, that's all for now, folks. As always, check back for more news and view later.

In the meantime, GO BIG BLUE!
