Gameday : Alabama Laundry Detergent Second Half

That post was getting really long so I am going here for the second half. We have come out of the gate okay, but Bledsoe made up for it with another "bad" turnover.

The dumbest person on Earth is right behind me keeping up his critique of Wall's game. Sad thing is there are three NBA scouts right beside me that have to hear that crap. It is beyond annoying.

We aren't playing clean by any stretch of the imagination, but we are playing hard. With this that is really all that matters. Liggins and Cousins have set the tone with a lot of solid hustle.

Dancing guy is on fire tonight. Sliding down the guard rail. Feeling the flow. Working it. Working it.

In an awesome development, dancing guy has a new rival. Guy in his fifties that has mastered the John Wall dance like nothing I have ever seen. It was actually really good.

Dre comes out inspired by the dancing and knocks down a trey. Up 14. Will be interesting to see if we can expand it, but Wall is going for the unconventional triple double with Turnovers the other stat.

Wall should consider a professional career. He is good.

Cousins is well on his way to his 7th straight double double. He has played really well. Been very active.

Bama can't do anything with us on the glass. Cousins is killing them. They are making tough shots to stay in the game, but they have almost no margin for error with all of our second chances.

Another hustle play from Liggins although Bama still ended up with two. Nobody plays  harder than Liggins, and he deserves the bigger role he has been getting lately.

Half way through the second half we have only extended the lead by two points, which is hard to fathom with the way we have dominated the paint. Bama looks like a well coached team. Almost all of our teams in the league this year seem organized and well coached. Pretty good indication for the future of the conference.

Twin Towers are on the floor with Cousins and Orton. Also known as the Bash Brothers. Quack. Quack. Quack.

Fourth foul called on Bledsoe. I am not sure if that is so terrible. He has been pretty rough tonight. Liggins back in the game. I don't know if we have seen this five all year, should be interesting. (WAll, Liggins, Dodson, and the Bash Bros)

One thing you have to love is our teams ability to get to the foul line early in each half. Gotta make them count though. Wall misses the front end, but shows why he is the one man fast break on the next time down the court. You can't really tell just how fast he is on TV. IT is something to see in person. 51-43

51-45 and the crowd is getting a little bit tense. I always hate that when the crowd isn't really into the game. It has been really hard though with all the turnovers. Every time we look ready to make our move we fumble it out of bounds. Pretty frustrating. To their credit, Bama has made some tough shots and played extremely hard to stay in the game.

Bama has gotten away with a lot of physical play. Refs have been mostly consistent though so it is hard to complain. We haven't played well, but we are still playing hard. Hopefully we can clean it up. Just as I say they have been consistent, the refs call a phantom call. Bush league.

Amazing play by Wall. He has done some work on the boards too. I know we are only up 9, but there are still a lot of things to like. Wall decided to take over by the way. Beautiful runner to extend the lead.

Old Man Ref saw that Wall was taking over and didn't want to share the spotlight. There have been some funny calls here down the stretch. Spread for the game was 15. I am just saying.

This game has been a little bit frustrating, but I think we can beat a lot of teams with just this kind of effort. WE might need more late in March, but it is good to know we can still be pretty tough without our A game.

I am not saying the Refs have been bad, but I just hate it when they look like some of the guys I play poker with and are on the phone with their bookie during TV timeouts.

Best possession of the game there. Ice the clock and get an AND 1 two handed dunk from Orton. That was good basketball. Gotta cash it in at the line though and make them pay.

Odd there at the end, Bledsoe looked scared to shoot. He has been in a little bit of a slump. Would like to see him break out of that ASAP.

Cousins is pissed right now. Glad he calmed down and made the second.

Six point game. We are a bad turnover away from a ball game. I hate these games where we let a game opponent hang around. If we make the free ones we should be fine though.

Liggins even hustled to the free throw line after getting fouled. That is ball game. I am out.

  3. Gomez here...

Here's another game where Kentucky has a double digit lead (14) and the Cats fail to put the other team away.

  4. Bama is better than their record indicates, but we still should have put them away when we had them down 14.

  7. Taking a step back tonight, that's ok as long as they win.

  10. I was worried about a possible trap game coming tonight. I just think there was a lot of excitement and buzz around gameday this weekend that it was natural for them to overlook the Tide tonight. I just hope they pull it out.

  11. Maybe the second most frustrating game this season behind USC. Let's just hope they were looking toward the weekend. That's my story.
