A little help from little brother...

Today Louisville took a big, maybe a huge step toward making the NCAA tournament field. Shaking off a disappointing loss this week to St. John, "little brother" beat No. 2 ranked Syracuse in the Carrier Dome this afternoon, 66-60.

Now, let's get something straight. I could care less if "Benedict Rick" makes the NCAA tournament, or if he bolts for the NBA, but I actually found myself pulling for the Cards today. Not only did the loss by the Orange put UK back to No. 2 in the AP poll, but more importantly it makes one of the Cat's marquee wins actually relevant. With the recent skid of North Carolina and UConn, Louisville is our best chance of having a solid win in our non-conference schedule.

It's difficult to ever pull for Pitino or the Cards, but for us to have any shot at the over all no.1 seed in the tournament, we need them to play well down the stretch in the Big East... no matter how bad it sucks.
