Rick Pitino says it was a lie...

Ricky P is back at his favorite hobby... denying news reports about himself. Rick Pitino quickly squashed rumors about his alleged "reaching out" to the New Jersey Nets organization. This of course, is to be expected, and may or may not be true. This is Rick Pitino we're talking about here, folks. This guy hasn't exactly proven himself as the voice of integrity lately.

If I had to guess, I'd say he did reach out and the Nets said "we're not interested" which lead Rick to tell Pat Forde of ESPN, there's no truth to any of it.

But, as is the case with most anything to do with Rick Pitino these days, there's no way to know for sure what the truth might be unless there's a recorded phone conversation.
