Madness starts early in Kentucky...

The Murray State Racers are the first team from Kentucky to punch their official ticket to the NCAA Tournament with their win over Morehead, 62-51 in the OVC Championship tonight in Nashville. Of course, a team from the Commonwealth would have made it either way, but with BBNR being based just a few miles up the road from Murray, we are excited that they will make their way into the "Big Dance" for the first time since 2006.

Murray will go into Selection Sunday with a 30-4 record and with their balanced scoring attack, could cause problems for a higher seed in the opening round. Matter of fact, Doug Gottlieb said on College Gameday Final that the Racers were capable of winning a game in the tournament. This might be the first time we agree with Gottlieb on anything. Congratulations to the Racer club and good luck in the tournament.

Also, in our beautiful state, Louisville came as close as anyone can to securing a bid to the tournament as they beat No. 1 Syracuse in the last game at Freedom Hall, 78-68. The win gave Louisville a 20 win season and 11 wins in the rugged Big East. It also secured a season sweep against the Orange. At this point, with the weak bubble, it's hard to see Slick Rick missing the tournament. I guess we can still hope though...
