UK is Solid Gold, Baby...

Gomez here...

Vitale has announced his Solid Gold awards for the 2009-2010 college basketball season, and you can read all about it right here. If you're too lazy to click and read for yourself, I've included the highlights below...

VITALE'S ALL-SOLID GOLD FIRST TEAM:

John Wall, Kentucky
Jon Scheyer, Duke
Greivis Vasquez, Maryland
Scottie Reynolds, Villanova
DeMarcus Cousins, Kentucky
Evan Turner, Ohio State
Wes Johnson, Syracuse

VITALE'S ALL-SOLID GOLD SECOND TEAM:

Greg Monroe, Georgetown
Luke Harangody, Notre Dame
James Anderson, Oklahoma State
Jimmer Fredette, BYU
Damion James, Texas
Cole Aldrich, Kansas
Sherron Collins, Kansas

VITALE'S PLAYER OF THE YEAR: John Wall, Kentucky

VITALE'S COACH OF THE YEAR: Jim Boeheim, Syracuse
Honorable mentions: Frank Martin, Steve Alford, Gary Williams and John Calipari

There was no mention of Kevin Stallings' amazing and award-worthy coaching efforts, so clearly, Dick Vitale has finally lost his mind and no longer has the pulse of what makes up a truly great coaching performance in Division 1 basketball. < /sarcasm >
