The pictures above were taken from my iPhone at the SEC tournament in Nashville. So far, we've already been treated to some exciting basketball. Alabama came all the way back from 16 down in the second half to beat the Cocks of South Carolina. Their award? A match up with the #2 team in the country in less than 24 hours.
The arena was less than half-full at the beginning of the first game, but fans are really packing in for the UT-LSU game, which is coming up next. I'd say that UK fans make up 50% of those in attendance today. Hundreds of other UK fans are in Nashville hoping tickets will become available as teams and their fan-bases head home early (like South Carolina).
UT is well represented, as well. If Kentucky or Tennessee loses early, this tournament atmosphere will suffer greatly, in my opinion. I mean, let's face it, the SEC needs UK to play till Sunday to keep this tournament relevant, period. Does anyone want to come back on Sunday to watch Alabama and Vandy play? Not me.
Case in point... The loudest the arena gets is when one of the Cats show up (most of the team was here watching the first game). Wall has graced the jumbo-tron several times to thunderous ovations each time.
