And the winner is...

Jarrod Polson, who will follow in the footsteps of former in-state walk-on players such as Mark Heissanbuttle, Cameron Mills, and Mark Krebbs.

"It's been a lifelong dream..." remarked Polson's father Greg, when asked what he thought about his son becoming a member of the Wildcats roster.

Polson, despite being a non-scholarship player, sees an opportunity for himself. "(Kentucky coach John Calipari) said everyone gets an equal chance to play, so I'm just going to work hard and see if I can," Polson said.

While it remains to be seen if Jarrod will be able to make it onto the floor for many minutes, this is a great pickup for the 'Cats... not just because of the fact they got a talented winner onto the team, but because if there's anything UK fans love, it's a homegrown player.
