Monday Evening Notes...

Here's a few notes for your Monday evening...

:: Former five star recruit, Mike Rosario from Rutgers is looking at UK as a possible transfer location. He was a shooting guard who averaged 16 points a game in the Big East, and could provide some scoring for a team, at times, struggled to score. (I'm looking at you West Virginia game)

:: Rick Stansbury was a candidate for the Clemson job, but according to multiple sources, has decided to stay at Mississippi State. Jeff Goodman blames his buyout clause as the main reason why Stansbury declined the offer, and not some abiding commitment to the MSU program. Take that for what its worth.

:: It seems that friend of Coach Cal and fan of the Big Blue, Big Ben Roethlisberger has escaped again and will not be charged with sexual assault after a 20 year old college student accused him of such earlier this year. He's also being sued by a woman who claims he raped her in 2008 at a hotel and casino in Lake Tahoe, an allegation he still very strongly denies.

:: No word yet on what the real fallout will be from Strickland's fourth DUI and his first as a college coach. Cal might give him a second chance, or send him packing, depending on what the original agreement was when he was hired. Also, because DUI is no laughing matter, I wouldn't be surprised if Lee Todd and Mitch Barnhardt were to weigh in on the matter, as well. This could have an impact on spring recruiting, depending on how involved Strickland might or might not have been in the recruitment process of the players still on Cal's current wishlist.

:: Enes Kanter is turning some heads folks. Doug Gotlieb said today that Kanter might be the most talented player in the incoming class...

"If -- and it's a big if -- Enes Kanter plays next year for Kentucky, Big Blue might forget the name DeMarcus Cousins. Kanter, who most people I talk to consider the best prep talent in the country, probably will sit an extended amount of time due to eligibility issues from his days playing in Turkey. But if he can get in 10-15 games next season, his basketball IQ and on-court talent will amaze."

Let's hope Gotlieb is blowing hot air (which he is known to do 90% of the time that his mouth is open) and that Kanter will play a lot more than 10-15 games; but nevertheless, its exciting to hear the positive buzz around his ability to dominate the game.

:: All signs are pointing to a Wednesday afternoon announcement that will confirm Brandon Knight becoming a Kentucky Wildcat. The annoucement is scheduled for 4 PM on Wednesday, and we'll be talking about it right here... so stay tuned.

That's all for now... more stuff later.

  1. Im not 100% sure but i think Mike Rosario played with Tyshawn Taylor in High School and they went undefeated their senior year and won the State Championship... anyway, if that is the guy then he could give us a legit 3 point threat which we lacked last year
