The road ends here...

The road to a championship will end tonight for either the Butler Bulldogs or the Duke Blue Devils. This is a classic story of David vs Goliath, or to us here at BBNR, good vs evil. I honestly never believed Duke to be a legitimate championship contender, now with the help of the good ole' selection committee they now stand just 40 mins away from Coach K's fourth championship.

It's a difficult pill to swallow for UK fans. A year that saw the Cats dominate most of the regular season and the early part of the tournament will now possibly see one of their most hated rivals cutting down nets tonight in Indy.

It's not a foregone conclusion that Duke will win, as there is another team trying to write their own history and leave their own legacy. The Butler Bulldogs is a team anyone can root for. From their band of players that most division one schools did not want to their baby faced coach, it truly is a story straight from Hollywood.

Yet it isn't and the Dawgs have shown that they can play with the best having beat Syracuse, Kansas State and Michigan State to earn the right to play tonight for the national championship.

I don't think there is anyone in the state of Kentucky who will be cheering for the Devils tonight. Shelvin Mack, a Kentucky native who was passed by both Tubby Smith and Billy Gillispie will likely start for Butler. Another reason to watch the game and another reason to cheer with vigor against Duke.

The film Hoosiers was filmed on location at Butler University. Now they have the chance to a tell an even greater story...their own.
