Pearl is a noob...

Bruce Pearl is stirring the pot again. Its late May, and we're still months away from Midnight Madness, but that's not stopping the big orange moron from flapping his gums.

Yesterday, Pearl said that Florida was the clear cut favorite in the SEC East and that Kentucky would be "lumped together" with Tennessee, Vandy and Georgia in a chase for second place and a hopeful NCAA bid. He did applaud UK's new class coming in, but also made a point to say that Kentucky will not be as good as they were this past season and that their new class isn't as loaded as the one before it. He said other stuff too, but it ain't worth repeating. If you must know though, you can read the whole article here.

Personally, I think Pearl likes taking off-season cheap shots at UK and Cal. It keeps the rivalry fresh and relevant, which is good for him and his program and the SEC as a whole. Of course, he said just enough to make his comments sound legit, but he surely knew that his comments would fly all over the most rabid fan base in all of college basketball.

Oh well, when the time comes, we'll show 'em who's boss!

  1. what are they putting in the water down there in Knoxville? First Lane Kiffin pokes a sleeping giant (USC) and then the Vols football team have a disasterous season and Kiffin bolted to the team he was throwing daggers at in preseason.

Now we have Pearl throwing haymakers waaaaayyyyy before the season starts at the defending SEC champs who just pulled in the best recruiting class in the country? Those guys are goin nuts down there in Rocky Top.
