No one would blame Washington Coach Lorenzo Romar if he were a little bitter toward Kentucky. There are also more than a few national analysts who have the Maui Classic circled on the calendar this fall expecting the buzz to be off the charts if and when Washington and Kentucky meet. The story is there for sure. Coach Cal not only took the best big man in this class, former Washington commit, Enes Kanter; but last week he took another former Huskie, Terrance Jones (albeit a soft verbal).
Yet, Romar has taken everything in stride and been a true professional throughout. Can you imagine the scene if this had happened to someone like Coach Pearl? He was already calling foul against Cal when Selby decommitted and the kid didn't even end up in Lexington.
Romar took some time out with ESPN in Seattle late last week where he compared UK's current recruiting to the Fab 5 at Michigan in the early 90's. He also had some interesting comments on the Jones recruitment too.
Again, Romar has every reason to be cold to Cal and UK, but this isn't his first rodeo and he knows how the game works...
