Joker's Operation Win Turning Heads...

Last week at the SEC media days, Joker Phillips made a great first impression as the new head coach of the UK football program. So much in fact that Joel Barker of The Bleacher Report ranked him as having the most impressive appearance of all 12 SEC coaches...

"Maybe it's because Joker is one of the newest SEC coaches. He still hasn't coached his first down in a game for the Wildcats. So, maybe he hasn't had a chance to get jaded yet. Or maybe he's just a great personality with a great vision for a program that has experienced some success recently, but is nowhere close to the top teams in the conference. Either way, Joker Phillips was extremely impressive on the first day of SEC Media Days. He talked of his 'Operation Win' plan with the fervor and passion of a pastor beckoning his parishioners to spread the good news."

With the kick off of the Joker Phillips era just a mere 40 days away, its nice to see individuals outside of the Bluegrass State showing some love for our new coach. Let's just hope the hype translates to a solid product on the field.

Kentucky's season begins on Saturday, September 4 with a trip to Papa John's Stadium in Louisville.

  1. I can't wait for the Joker era to begin in Lexington. As much as Brooks did for this program I think Joker's new staff may be able to recruit well enough to help the program take that much awaited "next step". Austin and I were talking about how this could be the year that we see the streak end against Tennessee and maybe even South Carolina.
