Vandy removes "interim" title

Robbie Caldwell’s big day has arrived! When Vanderbilt Head Coach Bobby Johnson decided to retire on July 14, it surprised everyone. Let's face it, football coaches retire in January... not July. Vandy was left with no other choice but to name Robbie Caldwell as their interim coach for the quickly approaching 2010 season.

Caldwell was the assistant coach next in line, which is why he got the interim gig almost immediately. This is standard protocal. However, most didn't really think Vandy would remove the "interim" title so quickly... especially before the season even begins.

What happens if Vandy has a horrible year? What if they lose 7 or 8 games, which isn't beyond the realm of possibility in the SEC. Way to paint yourself in a corner, Vanderbilt. That's why we love you.
