And the judges say...

It was ugly, and at times, hard to watch, but this is the outcome you hope for with games like this.  Kentucky had too many turnovers, a ton of silly fouls, and there were some questionable decisions by our players (Cousins's elbow comes to mind), but Kentucky still won and won big.

Patrick Patterson left the game after turning his ankle and was out for almost all of the second half of the game.  Of course, we hope he's okay and is able to play tomorrow, but the fact that he had a limited time on the floor only cements the optimism we can take from today's game.  To dominate the other team like Kentucky did in the second half with their best player on the bench just speaks to the overall depth and talent of this team.

Kentucky was plus 20 in the rebound department, absolutely killing the Vikings on the boards.  John Wall lead the team with 15 points and 7 assists.  Darius Miller had 9 points and 8 rebounds, as well.

The Wildcats now play the winner of the Virginia/Stanford game tomorrow night.  Stay tuned for more thoughts later.

  1. Was that Carlisle's Middle School gym they were playing at?

And the TV coverage, Wow!! That was like old school 80's style with the rabbit ears on the TV.

  3. WHAT TV??? CBS COLLEGE SPORTS? If you live in a select coverage area you could see it on a free preview or you could purchase the additional channels just for these two games. I've already upgraded my Dish package so I could see my Cats play and then miss two games in Cancun?!?! We have one of the best teams in the country and are expected to watch some obscure channel ( I didn't even know existed) just to see them.

  4. Simmer down anon... lol. Yes, it sucks that such a network was covering the game, but look at who else is in the tournament?

My biggest concern with it was that despite being an HD channel for me, IT WAS NOT HD! It was more ED... that's Enhanced Definition for all of you with your minds in the gutter... either way, I loved watchin the game, despite the fact that it was on in the middle of the day (thank you DVR).
