Los Gatos en Desafíos de Cancun

Ol' Toondog classing it up for the hispanic audience today. MUY BUENO.

Nonetheless, the Cats face Sam Houston State in the opening game of the Cancun Challenge, and to elaborate on Micah's excellent post earlier, here is how the games will play out once the teams get to Cancun. Nov. 24: Florida AM vs. Rider (11 a.m.); Oral Roberts vs. Sam Houston State (1:30 p.m.); Kentucky vs. Cleveland State (4:30 p.m.); Virginia vs. Stanford (7 p.m.); Nov. 25: Finals (Kentucky-Cleveland State winner vs. Virginia-Stanford winner, 9:30 p.m.)

Luke Winn of Sports Illustrated called this tournament "The Kentucky Showcase," However, with the way the Cats played D versus Miami, OH nothing can be taken for granted. The Cats are still trying to find what lineups work, which brings me to my next point of the morning, Wall and Bledsoe...

When seperated, the duo has been dynamic. In the opening game against against Morehead State, Bledsoe looked like an All-American himself, as he scored 24/7/9 (points/boards/assists) with Wall sitting out due to suspension. With Wall back and playing in the Miami (OH) game, Bledsoe had a tough go of it, only scoring 2/2/3.

When Bledsoe was recruited to Kentucky, Coach Cal said that he and Wall could co-exsist in his system. While realizing it is a small test sample, it doesn't look like they can co-exsist just yet. The success of the 09-10 Cats could hinge on if Cal can get Bledsoe and Wall to be successful while on the court at the same time.

To wrap up the morning ramblings is this tidbit on former Kentucky Coach Tubby Smith. The St. Paul Pioneer Express reported this: Don't be surprised if Minnesota athletics director Joel Maturi and men's basketball coach Tubby Smith end up in a trial next spring to defend themselves against a charge that Jimmy Williams was promised a Gophers assistant coaching job that he didn't receive.  No bearing on the Wildcat landscape, but something interesting to watch.

As for tonight's game I will say Cats by 14. GO BIG BLUE!
