When a player comes to UK, they are embraced by the fans for life. That can mean a head start in a professional or even political career, as well as a strong following for those lucky enough to continue their basketball careers in the NBA. We will try to keep you posted on the former Cats throughout the season.
Rajon Rondo (Boston Celtics): 7.4 ppg, 10.4 assists, and 4.4 rebounds
Tayshaun Prince (Detroit Pistons): 12.3 ppg, 5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists
Kelenna Azubuike (Golden State): 15 ppg, 4.5 rebounds, 0.5 assists
Chuck Hayes (Houston Rockets): 7.5 ppg, 6.3 rebounds, 2 assists
Nazr Mohammed (Charlotte Bobcats): 2.3 ppg, 4.3 rebounds, 0.8 blocks
Jamaal Magloire (Miami Heat) and Randolph Morris (Atlanta Hawks) have not played so far this season, and Jodie Meeks has only logged 2 minutes of action, grabbing one rebound, so far in his young NBA career.
You get the feeling that this list is only going to grow exponentially in the coming years, as we are going to be virtually a minor league system for the NBA. The NBA has gotten a lot better in recent years, and the influx of Big Blue talent will only make it that much more interesting for Cats fans.

I have really enjoyed getting back into the NBA and now that there will be plenty of UK players in the league, it will be that much better.
ReplyDeleteI am a little surprised that Meeks isn't playing more by now.
BTW, any word if Joe will get another crack any where?
ReplyDeleteyea, I would love to Joe catch on some where. Good to see some of the others doing well though.
