Hey guys... Michael here.
As we've mentioned in the past, Larry Vaught is one of our favorites. I've read his stuff for years, starting way back when he used to write for Oscar Combs and the Cats' Pause. It was a little surreal seeing him sitting at a table typing away on his laptop after Cal's post-game press conference Monday night, just waiting for me to introduce myself with a home-made business card and some fan-boyish comments about how big of a fan I am of his work. I was glad to learn that he's really nice, polite, and professional, not to mention, genuinely interested in who I was and what we're trying to do over here at BBNR.
With that said, I'm very appreciative of him sharing some information about our website with his readers over at Vaught's Views. As we've said before, and we'll continue to say as long as we're here, Larry is one of the best, and we look forward to working with him in the future.
Monday night's experience was amazing for me, and I plan to write about it in full detail soon, but I can honestly say that getting to meet Larry was one of the best highlights. Again, special thanks to him for helping spread the word about our new corner of Big Blue Nation.

Big thanks to Larry for checking us out. He is a class act and he showed it again by taking to time to talk to Mike after the game Monday. Make sure to check out his site if you haven't already.
ReplyDeleteI saw his story earlier tonight. That's awesome he gave your site some kudos. Good stuff.
ReplyDeleteThanks to Larry Vaught for the shout out over at Vaught's Views. I started reading his site a little over a month ago, and it hasn't taken long for it to enter my "rotation" of websites I follow. His posts seem like they come from a normal UK fan like myself.. only better.
ReplyDeleteI am not just saying this because of the shout out, and those that have been following us from the beginning can attest we are big fans of his work. In this modern age the Internet has replaced the local hardware store or diner as the place many people go to talk about their favorite team. We hope we can have a little bit of that feel around here. From talking to Mike, Larry is just as approachable as somebody at your local hardware store, while still producing professional and top notch work. Kudos Larry.
pretty cool stuff. from the humble beginnings in Mike's UK man cave three months ago with that first meeting, the site has already grown alot in a short period of time.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say I like your site. I just recently found Larry Vaught's site, and saw his shout out to you guys, and thought I would check it out. So far, I like what I see. I too am from Western KY. Not as far west as you are, but definately far west of Lexington. I have you bookmarked, and look forward to visiting often.
