SEC Tidbits...

When I awoke this morning, and then rolled over and grabbed my iphone to check the scores from the night before, I was shocked to see two of them, the Arkansas and Mississippi State games.  Let me tell you why...

Forget the recent troubles with his roster; Pephrey's Arkansas squad scored 130 last night.  Sophomore guard, Rotnei Clark poured in 51 points, making an SEC record 13 3-pointers.  Clark is a pure shooter, and since Jodie Meeks departed for the NBA, he is most likely the best shooter in the league.

Remember this post?  Well, #19 MSU got beat at home by Rider... and by 14 points.  We told ya' the prediction was bold and stupid.  We'll see how UK does against Rider on November 21st.  I'm thinking better than the Bulldogs fared, but maybe we should check with the idiot at The Sporting News to make sure.

Now we switch gears to Football.  Check back for coverage of today's game against Vanderbilt a little later.  We'll be talking about that and more basketball throughout the day.

Stay tuned!

  1. Very nice start to the season for Pel. I hope they can be compete in the West this season. If they have another down season it could be lights out for Pel in Arkansas.

  2. Coach Cal talked about how good mid major teams like Morehead and Rider really help show you what you need to work on, and if you don't show up they can beat you. Rider is a legit team as they showed today against Miss State. There are a lot of land mines in our schedule. We need to get at full strength and continue to get better to avoid triggering one of them

  3. It's such a great thing that Rotnei Clark wasn't good enough for our team... boy I wish we still had the human-licquor cablinet also known as Bill Gillispie...

51 points? Are you serious?????? Yes, it was probably against a direcitonal school, but if there's anyone who knows how to unleash a spot-up shooter, it a member of The Unforgettables.

Way to go John... maybe when Cal is finished in 10 or so years, enough people will think that John has enough experience at a big school to become our next coach.

  4. Oh, and as an adendum to my pervious post, Austin, that made no sense.

  5. I agree Book, Clark would be perfect for this team. Gillispie was an idiot.
