Afternoon tidbits...

:: John Wall is the first player in the history of the SEC to win "Freshman of the Week" for four consecutive weeks. This reminds me of Titantic's run as the #1 movie at the box office and everyone wondered when a new release would step up and knock it off the top spot. John Wall is "King of the World!"

:: Kentucky climbed a spot to No. 3 and picked up a first-place vote in both of the latest men's college basketball rankings, which were released on Monday. Kentucky is 10-0 for the first time since Pitino stalked the sidelines in 1993. The top 5 are the same in both major polls...

1.) Kansas
2.) Texas
3.) Kentucky
4.) Purdue
5.) Syracuse

:: Coach Cal is leaving today for a recruiting trip, and his assistances will be conducting individual work-outs with the team. The Cats do not play again until Saturday, when they face Austin Peay at Rupp Arena... a game none of us will see because a network that isn't readily available to the masses is carrying the game. Darn it.

:: Despite constant rumors, Rich Brooks has not told anyone that he is retiring after the season, including Joker Phillips and Mitch Barnhart. Don't expect any kind of announcement to the otherwise anytime soon. Kentucky is hard at work preparing for the Bowl date with Clemson on December 27th.

Real Nice Post...now don't ever bring up Titanic or compare UK to it ever again.

  2. Kentucky should be No.2, Texas is overrated, IMO. Not by much, but they should be further down the Top 10.
