Cal knows coaching...

Wow what a game! I should be fast asleep by now, but I wanted to throw this up before I crash. John Wall is awesome.. Ok that's all. Good night.

No really, when Cal took a timeout with just under 49 seconds left, you knew that Wall would have the ball in his hands with the game on the line. Calhoun decided to put Stanley Robinson on Wall which was called a great move by Dickie V. It was, as it worked on the previous UK posession that ended in a shot clock violation. What happened next is why Cal is one of the best coaches in the NCAA. Instead of Wall starting the play, Miller came out to take the ball and showed intent to drive on his man. This allowed Wall some seperation when he came around Darius to take the pass leaving Robinson a step behind which lead to the three point play. Great adjustment by Cal to say the least.

If you get a chance to watch it again, check out this play, so this rambling makes more sense.

More tomorrow. Good night and GO CATS!

  1. You're right, JB. That was the play of the game, to say the least.

  2. Great point, lil bro. Cal knew the bigger defender was going at Wall so he adjusted. Great play making for Wall, and a huge difference in the outcome. Wall has no fear, except Coach Cal I'm sure.
