There's a lot of talk about Coach Cal and his coaching rivalries. There's a lot of people out there that don't like Cal because he recruits the very best players and then wins with them on a regular basis. Most Division 1 coaches have an ego as big as their recruiting budget, if not bigger, so they certainly don't like it when another coach goes in behind them and steals their prized prospect. Calhoun didn't like it when Calipari grabbed Marcus Camby right out from under his nose in Hartford, and Pitino certainly didn't like Cal taking better players to Memphis during their CUSA days, or especially now that they're both in the same basketball crazed Bluegrass State.
Yes, Coach Cal has had his share of rivalries over the years, and tomorrow night, one will be reborn in NYC. As we await the tip-off, let's stroll down memory lane and watch one classic confrontation between our Coach and Temple's John Chaney. One can only hope things will be this heated tomorrow night. Well, that's if we're able to win, of course. If not, let's hope things stay cool and cordial. More later...

Calhoun might be old, but I bet he could still bust some heads. Coach Cal better be careful.
