Meyer to step down...

In what has become a shocking development in college football, Urban Meyer will step down from the head coach position at Florida after their bowl game. Meyer isn't going to another school or the NFL but states health as his reason for the tough decision.

He had just received a 6 year, 24 million dollar extension in August so again, this is a very surprising news.

It's not sure what the health concerns are, but I fear it could be serious if he is stepping away from not only a Top 5 program but the game all together. Everyone here at BBNR wishes him the best with his challenge ahead.

Edit: scratch that... He's changed his mind, and is now saying that he's just taking a break. He'll most likely be back at Florida next season.

  1. If the things I've heard from credible sources are true, this is insane for him to return to the sidelines.

I've heard talk of mini-strokes, debilitating headaches, small heart attacks, a brain tumor, a defective heart valve... any or all of those should mean GAME OVER for UM... yet now, after 'sleeping on it,' he's just taking a LOA. Ridiculous.

He parades himself around on ESPN saying 'God, Family, Work' is the way it should be.... well, if he truly believes that, PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS! GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN STILL PRACTICE YOUR FAITH, and BE WITH YOUR FAMILY! The man has a texas-sized ego... and if he's not careful, it will be the death of him.
