Don't Forget the Ladies

The UK Men's Basketball team is off to one of it's best starts in school history as Coach Calipari and his young, talented team are bringing a new level of excitement back to the Bluegrass State; an excitement that has been missing the past few seasons.

As easy as it would be to focus only on the #2 ranked Wildcats, as true blue fans, we can't forget to show some support for the talented group of Lady Wildcats that coach Matthew Mitchell is slowly leading back to relevance on both a conference and national level.

With a close, heart-breaking loss against #6 Georgia on the road in overtime, and a 10 point victory over #17 Vanderbilt in the SEC home opener, the Lady Wildcats are drawing close to their first top 25 ranking since a brief stint at the beginning of the 06-07 season.

Hopefully, with alot of young talent emerging and a favorable schedule upcoming against the bottom four teams in the women's SEC standings (South Carolina, Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn) the Lady Wildcats will crack the top 25 and give Big Blue Nation another reason to cheer about UK athletics! GO BIG BLUE!!!

  1. I've been very impressed with the Lady Cats this year. They're much better than what people thought they'd be. They were picked 11th out of 12 in the SEC preseason.
