Kentucky dodges bullet at home...

Kentucky squeaked out a victory over the determined Bulldogs of Georgia at Rupp Arena on Saturday. Mark Fox's team is playing with a ton more of confidence since upsetting Georgia Tech earlier this week, and they rode that confidence into Lexington. The Wildcats were unable to slow down the Georgia attack early in the contest, but foul trouble and fatigue eventually took their toll on Georgia. DeMarcus Cousins and John Wall shot the ball well from the foul line down the stretch, icing the victory for Kentucky.

Patrick Patterson and John Wall were not the normal selves, committing senseless turnovers and missing open shots. The pair will have to perform better Tuesday when the Cats visit Florida for ESPN's Super Tuesday match up.

More later...

  1. Here's the deal. There will be some fans who will question or be concerned after today's 8 pt. win against a HOT Georgia team. Some may even be thinking an upset by the Gators coming up this Tuesday night in Gainsville. CALMDOWN. That's all I have to say, Georgia just came off a big win for them this past week beating the Yellow Jackets; who just beat Duke today. We will show up to play on Tuesday, and Wall and Patterson will be their normal selves.......so CALM WAY DOWN scared LEE brothers, I watched Florida today, we will kill them on the inside, and Wall will go off on ESPN Tuesday, just sit back and pop ya some popcorn fella's.

  2. I agree with you for the most part, but there are still issues that concern me. I am pretty sure we WON'T go undefeated in the SEC and that's fine. We are head and shoulders better than the rest of the league, but until we execute better in our half court offense we will have a lot of this grind it out, ugly wins. I think the sky is the limit for this team and they could make it to Indy in March, but they have much to improve upon.

  3. Just another tough SEC win. Thats how some of the games are going to be. It's not fun to watch, but no matter how much talent difference there is, there will be tough games with teams that we THINK shouldn't be. It will be more evident on the road in the SEC. Right now Arkansas looks like a game that would be tough at home or on the road. I'll call it a win and move on. It's obvious there are some things they need to improve on, but as the saying goes just win baby! I, like J.Lee don't care if we go undefeated, its all about the BIG picture now.
