Goin' Down Down in an Earlier Round

Last night, #3 Purdue went on the road to Minnesota, looking to pick up another big road win on the way to a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament.

Robbie Hummel, one of the more underrated players in college basketball, drove into the lane with about 7 minutes left in the first half and went down with a knee injury. It is not official how serious the injury is but most of the speculation says it could be season ending since we are so close to March already.

If one of Purdue's biggest leaders can't make it back for the tourney, look for them to receive a lower seed than they were hoping for, and also look for a potential earlier exit than the Boilermaker's were hoping for, especially with the Final Four being played so close to the Purdue campus.

It was also a tough break for our former coach, Tubby Smith. A win last night would have probably put them in the NCAA tournament. However, with the loss, they'll still have a lot of work to do in order to improve their resume before Selection Sunday.
