Emotions were already running high before the game even began. As you all know, it seems as though Cousins is probably expecting a pretty hefty phone bill this month. However, I would say from the “call me” gesture he threw up after so delicately stuffing the ball into the net, he displayed a care-free attitude about the whole debacle. Obviously, they felt the big ole’ teddy bear was a threat to them or they wouldn’t waste time harassing him. So, my advice is to take it as a compliment. You uh balla Big Cuz! I’m not sure if I spelled all of that correctly, but you get the idea.
Mississippi State really was a class act the whole night. The President of the college must be so proud of his harassing, water bottle throwing student body. It really is a true testament to the meaning of “southern hospitality.” Seriously, I am so proud that our Coach herded his team to the dressing room immediately after the traditional shaking of the hands. Crisis averted! We accomplished what we came to do, and simply didn’t need to respond to the foolishness of what can only be a result of sore losers.
OK, now on to the more important things…..fashion! At Saturday’s game against Tennessee, our Kentucky Wildcats introduced new uniforms. To say the least, they stylin. To the average bear, they probably just appear to be the typical white and royal blue jerseys. You see, for fashionists that have an impeccable eye for detail, the uniforms are quite the contrary.
The typical components of a team’s attire are present. You know, number, player’s name, and team name. If you look closely, deep into the intricate seams and stitching, you will find what I consider to be an art.
On the back of the jersey, there is a design that is very subtle, yet appropriate for a team of this caliber. Right underneath the number that is used to identify each player, there are cat eyes. Now, these eyes do not jump out at you. Oh no! They are understated, and very cleverly sewn into an intricate design using a silk thread with only slightly different shades of white and soft blue. For me, the eyes are symbolic, and represent the intensity of each game. It is almost like our team plays with eyes in the back of their heads. Each move made by the opposing team is answered with cat-like reflexes. They are sneaky, graceful, and always land on their feet. Meoooooowwwww!
Love you….GO BIG BLUE!
