Mark Krebs will be saying goodbye to Rupp Arena and 24,000 of his closest friends tomorrow. While he hasn't seen a high number of minutes on the court, he's a kid that will be remembered fondly by the Big Blue Nation faithful.
He started his college career by signing on with Thomas More College, but quickly realized he wanted to play for the team he had loved his whole life... the Kentucky Wildcats. He wrote Tubby Smith a letter and asked for the opportunity to walk on, and the next thing you know, he was a Wildcat.
After, Tubby left, Coaches Gillispie and Cal both decided to keep him around, and he is thankful for his time at UK... "It all worked out for me. (Cal) gave me a scholarship and still to this day I think no one deserves everything I've gotten, but it's just amazing what all I have been through. It taught me a lot, and I think it has been great for me."
We salute you, Mark, and thank you for your efforts at Kentucky. We wish you nothing but the best in your future.
