Katz on the Cats...

Andy Katz caught up with Coach Cal in Indy this week, and he's posted a very good article over at ESPN. While there isn't anything earth shattering to report from this article, there are some interesting points that should be considered.

First of all Cal says that he isn't buying all of the Dodson rumors...

"I don't buy it, I think he'll be fine. There are rumors because it's Kentucky," Cal told Katz. While he didn't seem to be oozing with confidence, he didn't seem to be a guy that was all too worried either.

The other point that I found interesting is that Katz firmly believes that UK is going to "reload" in the spring signing period and mentions several recruits by name. Dick Vitale also tweeted something similar after his conversation with Coach Cal in Indy. The important thing to remember is that both Katz and Vitale seemed very confident in UK's recruiting after talking to Cal. It stands to reason that Coach Cal probably knows who is coming and who isn't and may have given a little insight to the guys over at ESPN.

The last thing to point out is his comment on Bledsoe and Orton, "If we get them back, we'll be better and if we don't we'll be fine." This to me seems like Cal feels there is still a chance those guys will be back in Lexington. It also could be the hold up of some of the recruits, meaning they could be waiting to see if Orton or Bledsoe end up back on the roster after testing the waters. Then again we may be trying to read tea leaves here and all of it could be "coach speak".

I know I wrote the article earlier in the week to relax and let Cal work his magic, but that is easier said than done. With all of the rumors floating around this week it's been hard to keep the faith. After reading between the lines tonight it seems it's not completely certain that we'll lose everyone to the draft.

But, if we do, Cal appears to have a solid plan B.
