Saturday morning tidbits...

According to Gregg Doyle over at CBS, Kanter has already been cleared by the NCAA Clearinghouse. This was reported yesterday and we have tried to clarify this by other sources, but Doyle seems to be the only one with this scoop. Still, if it's true (and we have no reason to believe Doyle has anything but solid info) this is a major question mark removed from next season's roster. Of course it doesn't necessarily mean something cannot change, just ask Derek Rose.

Last night was the "Night of the Future Stars" in Louisville and many fans got to see some of Kentucky and Louisville's recruits up close and personal. Stacey Poole and Justin Coleman were highlights of the evening and will be future rivals for their respective teams.

Marquis Teague buzz still has UK gaining ground on Louisville in his recruitment. According to who you talk to, Kentucky may even be leading now. At least Rick Bozich is hearing so.

There is some gaining momentum that Knight could be a two year player. Not only because of the potential NBA lock out next summer, but because of academics. Knight is not only a gifted athlete but also a gifted student. According to Andrew Miller, his mother says that Knight could graduate in as little as 2.5 years with his current AP credit.

In the same article, Miller says he believes Knight and Jones will both eventually sign with UK. Knight isn't a surprise, but Jones was believed by many to be headed to the PAC-10 (and still could). Miller seems to be a solid source for information and this may mean that UK is in better shape with Jones than BBNR originally thought.

Stay tuned...
