There's (not) Something About Favre...

If I made decisions for ESPN, the bulk of their content would be about UK Basketball 365 days a year. I just don't care about Brett Favre, T.O., or just about any other big story going on in the NFL. I enjoy pro football, but Kentucky is one of the few places where college basketball truly is King. Questioning whether Ramon Harris may be finally becoming acclimated to his added height and is ready to own the 9th man role this year would be daily discussion and beaten to death the same way as the Favre soap opera. We all remember the awkward times of our youth when our bodies were changing, and we had to adjust to our new dimensions. It was a clumsy time of stubbed toes and sleepily knocking into household objects. I think Ramon Harris got that out of the way last year, and the household object that he ran into (Porter) is no longer there to bang into..

Seriously, Brett Favre is one of the few things (along with WNBA highlights) that can cause me to see what other channels there are on DirecTV besides ESPN. I wonder whether there will be a TV station that covers the Cats 24/7? Topics that really matter could be covered ad nauseum, such as Ramon finally adjusting to the two extra inches he grew between his freshman and sophomore year. It would be great to run this into the ground all year just like ESPN has done with Brett Favre... All I know is, he was terrible in There's Something About Mary. His acting career didn't blossom like Ben Stiller's... If Ben Stiller were waffling on retirement, now that would be a story. I just don't see the big deal with this Favre guy.

Mike posted the other day some of our goals and intentions, but for me anyway, the Big Blue Nation Report becoming anything less than a revolutionary, 365 days a year, UK Sports TV station is a complete failure... What do you think?
