Tonight, we get to see John Wall in a real Kentucky uniform against another college opponent. While the opponent is NAIA Clarion State, it's still going to be a debut of sorts for Mr. Wall and his new career at UK. As Larry Vaught mentioned in his latest blog, Coach Cal himself even knows the importance of tonight, saying "I imagine there will be 24,000 there to say I was at John Wall's first game."
So it goes without saying, but we'll say it anyway... we're really looking forward to seeing him in action tonight, especially Jeremy and Austin, who will be there watching from press row and reporting live back to us here.
What about you guys? What are you looking to see from Mr. Wall tonight?

I'm wanting to see how much smoother the offense might look with him on the court. Hopefully we'll have a lot less than 23 turnovers.
ReplyDeleteReally wish we could see how smooth the offense will be with Wall and Bledsoe out there together. Guess we'll have to wait a bit.
ReplyDeleteI think it will be much smoother, but still choppy at times. I don't see the point guards struggling in this offense, it's the other positions that will. Wall will have an excellent game no doubt. No one can guard him, and if Clarion uses help side defense, there will be a ton of assists and dunks.
ReplyDeleteI just hope we get some quality shots tonight and take the three from
ReplyDeletethe offense. It looked like at times last game we forced the three out of desparation and not through what the DDO produced. From what I've taken away from the offense is that when ran correctly the corners are open when the defense has to collapse to help when the guards drive. I think Darius and Dodson will be crucial against better talent because they will be open because better teams will stop the drive or play a tough zone that should open up the long shot rather than dunks an layups.
Regardless of how the motion runs, I don't expect us to ever be a great shooting team. This is why I think Jodie Meeks's decision to go pro could be the difference between an Elite 8 and a National Title.
ReplyDeleteWho is this John wall guy? Where is mike porter? I am part of the press by the way
ReplyDeleteWell you sound just like a press guy, Austin... clueless. (other than Larry Vaught, of course)
