Another Reason to Hate Bob Knight

"We've gotten into this situation where integrity is really lacking and that's why I'm glad I'm not coaching," he said. "You see we've got a coach at Kentucky [John Calipari], who put two schools on probation and he's still coaching. I really don't understand that." Link:  Robert Montgomery Knight

He was one of the all time great basketball minds and also (to borrow a term from Coach Cal) in the Jagoff Hall of Fame. I could write for days about how big of a prick Bob Knight is, but I will save that for another day. I do wonder why Knight would single out Kentucky's coach, and not mention his protege Coach K in the same breath. Link: Selective Memory?

  2. Idiot. He is taking over for John Wooden as the new old senile former basketball coach.

  3. Oh yeah, Bob Knight is the voice of integrity for college basketball. Throwing chairs, choking players, and calling refs the worst words in the English dictionary are all testaments to the kind of man and coach Knight really is.... and that's just a small sample of some of the stunts this idiot did as a coach.

I guess it would be too difficult for Knight to look at the facts before opening his big mouth.

  4. and right after UK blasted the Hoosiers in Bloomington...so maybe sour grapes...add to the fact that Coach Cal has never been implicated in any wrongdoing anywhere (whereas, wasn't Mr. Knight fired for his behaviour towards one of his student/atheletes??...hmm)...so irrelevant drivel from an off-centered former coach means nothing...let him spout his venom... it comes across as whiny rhetoric...

  5. He's only stating what everybody in the nation (outside of Kentucky) already knows. You have your "blue-tinted" glasses on again Austin. And he happens to be the greatest coach in NCAA basketball history.

  6. Yes we do have "Blue- Tinted" glasses and we are proud of them, "Greatest college basketball coach in NCAA history"???? yeah he has over 900 wins but he is FAR from the greatest, go ask the poor fellow that was choke-slammed if he thinks the same! Bob Knight was a bully to his players and a world-class jerk that often through the biggest temper tantrums and was a black eye to the IU basketball program. Can you prove John Calipari has done anything wrong? If not then why all the slander?? If you were to ask anyone in the area's where Coach Calipari coached at they would tell you of the great things he done for their respective communities. Oh and by the way . . . .my "Blue-Tinted" glasses are off at the moment, just so ya know!

  7. Sorry Josh. . .just a couple of

    A. IU should worry about their own troubled past. i.e Sampson recruiting practices, Knight abusing players, Davis just being an all around idiot.

    B. People love to point fingers at Coach Cal, but it's funny that the NCAA has found him innocent of any wrong doing at UMASS or Memphis. If Cal was a Sam Houston or maybe another mid Major like Indiana then people wouldn't care, but since he's at the Notre Dame of college basketball, people take notice.

    C. Bobby Knight couldn't hold Dean Smith or Adolph Rupp's jock strap. Give me a break, best coach ever? Only his and your mind.

  8. Midge here-

I'm not sure who you are "Josh", but your a complete idiot. If you think Bobby "the choke hold" Knight is the greatest basketball coach ever; then you don't know s#*t about college basketball. We don't mind conflicting comments here at BBNR; most the time we welcome them; but your comment is laughable; and makes NO SENSE. Bobby Knight would have given his left arm for the UK coaching job, but Kentucky's Athletic Director didn't feel like explaining to the media what was going through their coaches mind when he put Krebs in a "head-lock" at the UK sidelines.

  9. Bobby Knight should be the last person on the face of the earth to criticize somebody if it is true or not. When people criticized Knight (Like Lou Henson when he called him a "Classic Bully")Knight explodes by throwing another one of his tantrums. This is the main reason I despise Knight because he can dish it out but cannot take take it.
