Good morning...
UK Basketball has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My Dad, a die hard Wildcat fan, watched many games with a little aspiring cheerleader, not to be confused as an annoyance, cheering on her team as though the player could hear her every word. Lucky for him, I did transition into an at-home spectator with the occasional outburst of excitement and sometimes, criticism. Now, 20-something years later, I still bleed blue!
I am married to an intense UK fan, and I find myself running to the middle of the room to do the famous “Ohhhhhhhhhh…….C-A-T-S Cats, Cats, Cats!” cheer with my three-year-old son.
I guess what I am trying to say is that UK Basketball is tradition. You are kind of born into it, and the fans remain loyal through good times and well, the Gillespie years. So, when a win really feels like a loss, as one of our other writers stated referring to Saturday’s game against Auburn, we as dedicated and devoted fans are not afraid to say… SHUT UP!
Love you…Go Big Blue!
