More on that Jones to UK story...

Gomez here...

Well, unless you were under a rock last night, you've no doubt learned that Terrence Jones is a Wildcat. I think most of us had just given up hope, and was already getting used to the fact that he wouldn't be coming to Kentucky. However, Coach Cal continued doing what he does best... sealing the deal.

With his committment, Jones is the final piece in what will be (once again) the #1 recruiting class in all of the land. He also helps push Kentucky back towards those pre-season top 10 rankings and should give the Cats another real shot at being in contention come next March. For all those that were singing the blues a few weeks ago, I think the wise words of one fine young blogger is ringing more true now than ever before... "We're going to be just fine, folks."

Of course, with the good, you also have to take the bad, and you can guarantee Cal's critics will be out in full force for the next few days. They'll say Cal "stole" Jones from Washington and that its just another example of how dirty he is and blah blah blah. Don't let that crap get ya' down, folks; we should be used to it by now. Just smile and say, "so sorry for your loss."

But all jokes aside, it does create a little tension between the two programs. As JBru pointed out, this will only add fuel to the potential fire that could be sparking in the Maui Invitational this fall. UK and Washington could play out there, and this whole situation could make for some really nice drama in what is usually a fun tourney already.

Anyway, it's all very exciting stuff for a cool, rainy day in May. It almost makes you ready for November, doesn't it?

That's all for now, folks. Stay tuned as we'll have more stuff for ya' later.

GO BIG BLUE!

  2. Jones = Beast

With Vargas backing him up the 4 spot is one of our stronger positions.
